My name is Kathryn Jackson. Welcome to Buttah and Biscuit! I am a passionate baker located in my hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I’ve had a sweet tooth since I was young girl. My Mom has told me many stories from my childhood, where I would eat way too much birthday cake. After several slices, I would run to her and say “my tummy hurts.” Fast forward thirty years later and not much has changed. I’m a sucker for a delicious piece of cake.
I’ve always loved baking at home. However, it was during 2020 when I really decided to kick it up a notch. (Yes, I was the person that was baking bread during the pandemic.) During this time I learned how to bake so many new items and I really fell in love with the process of creating something from scratch. The kitchen is the place where I feel most alive and so I make a point to spend lots of time there.
In 2021, I enrolled in the Pastry program at Milwaukee Area Technical College and am currently finishing my Technical Baking Diploma. This program is helping refine my baking technique.
In 2024 Buttah and Biscuit was born! I’m a proud graduate of Tuskegee Univeristy and have spent close to 10 years living in the south. This business is an homage to all things southern. Our signature product is the biscuit! We make a delicious biscuit and other items inspired by southern culture. We have a booth this year at the Riverwest Farmers Market (Sundays 10am-3pm, June -October) We also take orders online for pick up! We are excited to bake for you!
